John Ortega Sr.John Ortega, owner of Ortega’s Sewing Machine Company in Las Cruces, New Mexico, has become a true American success story in the sewing machine industry. He began his career with the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Sante Fe, New Mexico, in 1970. Soon after, he was named manager of an area store.

In 1972, John moved to Las Cruces to open his own independent sewing machine dealership. Since that time, his business has grown into one of the top selling sewing machine stores in the nation.

John has become a successful business man and a respected member of the sewing machine industry through hard work and determination. With little formal education, he developed an amazing business sense and a thorough understanding of the sewing machine industry. He has won numerous sales incentive contests from the Singer Company and has been recognized as one of Singer’s highest selling dealers.

John’s strong work ethic and self taught business savvy have not only brought him financial success, but have also made him a pillar in the local community.
