Cliff Brady III

Cliff Brady photoCliff Brady lll began in the floor care industry like many children of vac shop owners, working in the family business in Idaho Falls, ID. More than just a vac shop, Brady’s was billed as “Idaho’s most complete home specialty store.” There were many different departments of specialization, yet Cliff only had interest in the vacuum cleaner department. When he expressed interest in selling vacuum cleaners he was told he first had to go to school. The school was door-to-door vacuum sales. As his father had sold vacuum cleaners door to door in the 1960s and his grandfather had done in the 1920s so would he. Cliff quickly excelled in this, setting records in personal and group sales. He was quickly elevated to the position of regional sales manager. As a sales trainer, he re-tooled classic sales methods to meet the current market and developed an array of his own sales techniques which are still in use today.

He worked outside of the floor care industry for a time. He owned a restaurant bar and a nightclub, produced and marketed specialty liquors and was a licensed liquor broker. Returning to the family business, Cliff brought his experience and accomplishments with him and set out to change the way vacuum cleaners were sold in the independent floor center. His innovative vision of new retail experience was a hit with customers.

Quickly Brady’s built and maintained a record of sales that was gathering attention. Word of his achievements spread quickly to vacuum shops in neighboring cities and even neighboring states. Before long Cliff was inspiring and teaching others his distinctive methods. Never seeing fellow dealers as competitors, he promoted the spirit of sharing and growing the industry as a team of independent dealers. His training and demonstration techniques became well known on a national level. Cliff began writing a popular, monthly column for Floor Care Professional and speaking regularly at the annual convention. Cliff’s energy and unique approach to sales quickly made these standing room only convention seminars the hit of the show with many dealers going mainly to work with Cliff.

Most famously were his Lindhaus presentations, his personal favorite brand of floor care equipment. As a dealer Cliff believed the scale of value that these great vacuum cleaners provided challenged his demonstrative and sale abilities. “I want to be as good of a salesman as Lindhaus is a great vacuum cleaner,” he said.

Many dealers across the country have credited Cliff for giving them the direction and inspiration to turn their store around and take their sales to a higher level. Cliff is the perfect representative of the values that the Vacuum Dealers Trade Association strives to create.

In 2000 Cliff left the family business to join Lindhaus USA as Director of West Coast Sales, a position he enjoys and holds today now working exclusively for the brand he had grown to understand as the pinnacle of quality all those years as a dealer. Today Cliff and his lovely wife Deon live with their children, Davin, Nicki, Anthony and Maddie in Idaho.
