Industry News Margie Engel named 2009 Quilt Teacher of the Year Margie Engel of Satellite Beach, FL, has been named 2009 Quilt Teacher of the Year by The Professional Quilter magazine. Nominated for this award by her students in recognition of the quality of her teaching and the enthusiasm she generates for the world of quiltmaking, Margie has a positive energy level that is contagious with all her students. She is particularly proud of EduQuilters, an organization she founded to oversee quilt teaching projects, and its major endeavor, The Kids Quilt Project. Margie is also the author of two books.
