H-P Products & Spaner Marketing win Silver Award in Tri-State ADDY® Advertising Competition

H-P Products didn't set out to win any awards when they asked their advertising agency to come up with a high impact mailer aimed at the top 100 Systems Integrators in the country. The manufacturer of VACUFLO® and Dirt Devil® Central Vacuum Systems was just trying to recruit some new dealers.

However, when H-P teamed up with Canton-based Spaner Marketing Communications to create an elaborate, pirate-themed direct mail campaign complete with treasure map, messages in bottles and old wooden crates, the Integrators weren't the only ones who took notice. Spaner entered the work in the recent American Advertising Federation (AAF) Fifth District ADDY Competition and H-P became the only company in Stark County to win for creative excellence in advertising. The Silver Award also qualifies H-P and Spaner Marketing to compete in the National AAF ADDY Show.

The ADDY Awards is the world's largest advertising competition with over 60,000 entries annually. It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry, for the industry. The Fifth District competition is the second step in the process for advertisers in Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia who have already won awards on the local level. Three judges, by rule not from the district, evaluated over 525 entries in more than 75 categories from nine cities in the three-state area.
