In Memory In Memory of William Allan Kearns Industry friend and colleague William Allan “Al” Kearns, 68, passed away August 10, 2007. Al was born June 17, 1939, in Hampton, VA, a son to Everette and Ruth Stillman Kearns. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church. Al worked as a sales representative for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. and later for Tacony Corporation, Baby Lock division. He was a mentor to many youth activities such as coaching both baseball and football. He was a loving husband and father, and was known by everyone for his peaceful spirit, kindness and generosity. Surviving are his wife, Jane Mabe Kearns of the home; two sons, William A. “Bill” Kearns Jr. and his wife, Martie, of Asheboro, and Mike Kerns of High Point; two grandsons, Seth and Cling Kerns; stepmother Dorothy Kerns of Hampton, VA; two sisters Shelby Meador of Hampton, VA, and Debbie Fisher of Nevada; one brother Darrell Kearns of Hampton, VA.
