Industry News Panasonic announces personnel changes Gino Iacovella runs Panasonic’s Floor Care Division as National Sales Manager Panasonic Home Appliance Group has announced that Gino Iacovella will now run its Vacuum Cleaner Division. Iacovella’s extensive background in both consumer and commercial products has landed him the top position at the Panasonic Floor Care Division. Along with his current responsibilities in running the Food Service Division (commercial cooking products to the Food Service Industry), his 22 years at Panasonic will help him expand sales in Panasonic Floor Care products. “Panasonic’s brand is well known in consumer electronics industry” explains Iacovella. “But most people surveyed don’t even know we have been making vacuum cleaners since 1954! My job is to bring Panasonic Floor Care to market share levels of our other top line products like microwaves, plasma TV’s, digital still cameras and phone products.” Joe Haugk joins Panasonic team Panasonic Home Appliance Group is excited to announce the addition of Joe Haugk to its Vacuum Cleaner Division. Haugk’s extensive background in the vacuum cleaner industry began over 12 years ago with vacuum distributor RW Home Products and most recently with Riccar America. His knowledge of the vacuum industry spans all areas, including distributorship, manufacturing and retail store sales. Haugk will be working with Panasonic distributors throughout the county to build awareness and sales for the Panasonic vacuum line. In his new position, he looks forward to cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with both distributors and independent dealers alike, “as other brands have come and gone, Panasonic has always stayed true to the independent dealer with their Platinum Performance Plus line of vacuums and kept the independent dealer in mind when launching new products.” Reprinted from Floor Care Professional, October 2008
