“What is Your Goal When Cleaning?”
Good Questions to Ask Your Customers

by Randy Zielsdorf, Advanced Vapor Technologies

Have you ever asked your customers what their ultimate goal is or what final result they expect from their labor of house cleaning? I think the break down of answers would go something like this:

  1. I just want the house to look cleaner. Or, I simply want to remove the clutter or soil that is showing on the surface.
  2. I just want the house to look better and smell better, and I think I can solve that by simply laying down some fragrant cleaner.
  3. I want to remove what is showing on the surface and remove the deep ground in soil.
  4. I want to remove what is showing on the surface, deep clean and kill some bacteria.
  5. I want an extremely clean and healthy environment to live in.
  6. I want to do all this and save time cleaning as well.

What is needed in the way of equipment and chemicals to achieve 1., 2., 3., 4., 5. or 6.?

For instance the kitchen sink can be cleaned with water out of the toilet bowl and made to look clean; debris seen on the surface of carpet can be vacuumed with an inexpensive vacuum. But will that surface truly be clean? Will that surface really be healthy?

If your customers are looking to improve their health, do they really want to achieve their cleaning results with chemical cleaners? In general, what are their choices?

These are all very important factors and questions and the final results of cleaning efforts and health benefits will differ completely depending on the tools used and how they are used.

For something as important as health and considering the investment your customers have in their homes and properties, it is extremely important to have an expert available to share with them the important features and benefits of the multitude of choices available today for cleaning. They won’t find that expert in the “big box stores.” Your vac shop is the best place to start.

After all, cleaning is really the first line of defense for health and for a home’s indoor air quality. So if the goal for your customers is to enjoy a clean and healthy home, their equipment choice is worth spending some time researching.
