Industry News Ian Cheah joins the ESSCO management team ESSCO is proud to welcome Ian Cheah, the newest member of the ESSCO management team to the company. Cheah is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Business Administration and also holds an MBA from Michigan State. After beginning his career in retail with Kmart, Cheah quickly advanced into management as a senior retail buyer in the automotive aftermarket channel and as a merchandising manager with a hardware and tool manufacturer. Most recently he was the vice president of merchandising for a major paint manufacturer. In addition to his expertise in purchasing, merchandising and sales Cheah also has experience in Asian sourcing. "Ian will be invaluable to us as we continue to discover opportunities abroad," said Tom Bianco, ESSCO CEO. "We are firmly in growth and expansion mode and Ian brings a lot of talent and experience to the table for us." Initial responsibilities for Cheah will include overseeing the integration of ESSCO and Star after the acquisition. Cheah has identified many opportunities for both companies and their customers. After the initial project is completed he will be in charge of ESSCO's supply chain including vendor relations, inventory and stock level control, purchasing and management responsibilities. "This is a very exciting time to join a company like ESSCO," said Cheah. "Everyone is energized by the recent developments and the possibilities they present. ESSCO is growing and expanding and is truly a national distributor at this point. ESSCO is firmly focused on the customer and the team is dedicated to bringing independent vacuum shops the best buying experience possible.
