Scott Ride named president of Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems Electrolux Home Care Products (EHCP) has named Scott Ride president of Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems (ECVS, formerly Beam Industries). In this role, Ride will lead the global central vacuum business for Electrolux while maintaining overall responsibility for Electrolux Home Care Products Canada. Ride replaces Russ Minick, who was recently named president and CEO of EHCP. “Scott has been instrumental in developing both the central vacuum business and portable floor care business in Canada, and we are excited to leverage his deep understanding of the category in our global central vacuum business,” said Minick. “Scott already is very familiar with the ECVS team, operation and products, and I’m confident that his success in Canada is just the beginning of his impact for this company.” Ride has run the Canadian business since mid-2005, successfully leading Electrolux to a strong market share position in the central vacuum category in Canada, which is one of the most competitive central vacuum markets in the world. Ride assumed his new position Oct. 1, 2008. He reports to Minick and is part of the Floor Care North America leadership team. “Electrolux has a long history of providing dynamic, top-quality products in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” said Ride. “Our product offerings are diverse and our technology is world class. I’m looking forward to working with our customers, suppliers and channel partners to promote our brands and further expand our market presence.” Ride has more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience at top tier companies. Prior to joining Electrolux, he was a senior brand manager at Maytag Canada where he was responsible for managing corporate brand development and external communications, advertising, event marketing, marketing communications, public relations, strategic initiatives, marketing communications, and research. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Bishop’s University. Ride will continue to reside in Toronto while strategically splitting his time between Mississauga, Ontario, where he leads the EHCP Canada team; Webster City, IA, where ECVS is based; and Bloomington, IL, where EHCP is headquartered.
