Professional Vacuum Installers Graduate With Honors! Due to the overwhelming success and feedback from last year’s VDTA Central Vacuum Track, M.D. Manufacturing has agreed to continue and expand its efforts at educating the VDTA dealers. If you have never attended the VDTA and your business lacks the pizzazz to survive in the current economy, you must attend this one-of-a-kind education seminar track. At this time there are already many different classes that will be offered during the three-day event being held in Las Vegas February 21-23, 2008. In addition to those classes, VDTA and M.D. Manufacturing have teamed up to present a special education track where class after class after class will be presented all in the same room. Each class will be approximately one-hour long and a 10-minute break will allow brief interludes. M.D. offered the classes last year and some classes had all seats in the room filled. The track will run on Feb. 21 from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Feb. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Classes will include: Basic Installation, Advanced Installation Techniques, Large Home Installation, Existing Home Installations, Marketing and Selling Central Vacuums, Central Vacuum Technical Theory, Central Vacuum Service, and The Future of the Central Vacuum Industry. Basic Installation will ensure that installers know how to properly plan, design, and install most central vacuum systems. This class alone will prepare most installers to take and pass the VDTA Certification Test. The Advanced Installation Seminar will address many unique installation issues such as dealing with beams, steel structures, TJI’s and concrete structures. Unique characteristics of large homes will be covered insuring proper design and installation and an entire hour will be spent simplifying the installation mystery. Marketing of central vacuums has become more competitive. You’ll need to stand out from the crowd and M.D. will provide concrete examples of proven marketing techniques. Learn the proper way to run a home show. Learn demonstration techniques and how to leverage specific aspects of your products. Learn how additional specialty attachments can also clinch the sale. Tips will be offered for every type of central vacuum system on the market. Central Vacuum Technical Theory will explain CFM, waterlift, air watts, friction loss, low voltage theory and many other specifics of the industry. The Central Vacuum Service class will walk you through a logical progression to quickly diagnose and solve almost any issue related to the central vacuum. The market has changed drastically in the last few years and unless you have regularly kept up on developments, you may be missing the market direction. Don’t ignore the changes but instead come to The Future of the Central Vacuum Industry class. In-wall hoses, VacPan improvements, new hoses, new attachments, and electronics will all be discussed. The entire track will be taught by Grant Olewiler, general manager of M.D. Manufacturing. His superiority as an educator in this industry is unsurpassed, having taught at VDTA for each of the last 25 years! As a designer, installer, salesman, and serviceman, he’s been in your shoes. Grant ran his own business for almost 20 years before taking the lead position at M.D. Manufacturing. These seminars are clearly no-nonsense, fact-filled, action-packed and often humorous. This is not a product sales pitch but rather a generically-based serious opportunity for you to expand your central vacuum knowledge in a way not offered in any other venue. M.D. greatly encourages pre-registration of this seminar track to insure a customized training manual for each of the registrants. “We expect to provide almost 50 pages of effective training information to be a part of this program,” stated Mike Kretsinger, vice president of dealer sales. Please be sure to pre-register at www.builtinvacuum.com/cvtrack. M.D. Manufacturing has been offering seminars annually at VDTA since 1983 and is recognized for their ability to educate in a hands-on manner. Their centralvacuum.com Web site has become the industry’s portal for information with over 5,000 pages of information. Their products are sold under the brands of AirForce, Silent Master, Modern Day, FloMaster, and Stealth. For more seminar information, call 1-800 525-2055 or e-mail grant@builtinvacuum.com.
