Pfaff honors Ewald Cohrs for 50 years of service

Industry stalwart Ewald Cohrs was honored at the 20th Annual Pfaff International Dealer Convention in San Francisco, CA, for his 50 years of service to Pfaff and the sewing machine industry. Cohrs began his career with Pfaff in 1956 in Germany and has held a variety of positions within the organization over the years. Currently, he manages Pfaff dealer development for the company at the U.S. headquarters in Westlake, OH.

During the convention's opening session, Cohrs was presented with a custom gold-plated Pfaff creative2170 "EEC" (Ewald E. Cohrs) model, which displays his photo on the multi-color touch screen when the machine is turned on. Marc and Nancy Briley, owners of Ashby Sewing Machine Company in Marietta, GA, also gave him an antique gold-dipped Pfaff machine during the Pfaff Educator Showcase on August 6.

The real surprises occurred during the wrap-up Gala Dinner Dance on August 9. A retrospective video and congratulatory messages from dealers were followed by a version of "Ewald Cohrs, This Is Your Life," as surprise guests joined him for dinner, including his two children, their spouses and children, his sister and brother-in-law from Germany and his best friend and his wife, also from Germany. There was barely a dry eye in the room as Cohrs greeted these important people from his past and present.

The hope is that Cohrs decides to put in another 50 years with Pfaff!
