New DVC Micro-Lined Filter Program a hit with dealers The 2009 VDTA Annual Convention marked the debut of DVC’s new line of replacement vacuum cleaner filters developed exclusively for the independent floor care dealers. The DVC line offers 38 premium filters designed to fit the most popular vacuum cleaner brands. It features innovative “easy-view” packaging and bold graphics that allow the products to be merchandised in-store with superior visual impact and sales potential. Ken Burnett, director of DVC sales and marketing, described the development objective for the new filter line, stating, “When we created the line we had several key features in mind, most notably, quality performance and quality packaging. So many replacement products in the market are really low-quality products.” The DVC filters provide filtration efficiency comparable to the OEM filters. To help consumers more easily select the filter they need, DVC has color-coded the package graphics for each vacuum cleaner brand and packaged the filters in clear “easy-view” clamshells or polybags that allow the consumer to see the actual filter for better identification. To meet the needs of both U.S. and Canadian dealers, the filters also include tri-lingual labeling. Dealers and distributors at the show were enthusiastic about the new DVC filter line, commenting on the high-end look and quality image of the program. The VDTA Convention also showcased samples of DVC’s new vacuum bag packaging, scheduled to launch later this year. The vacuum bag packaging is designed to coordinate with the DVC filter graphics. The new vacuum bag package graphics are also color-coded for each vacuum cleaner brand and labeling is tri-lingual. With corporate offices located in Clifton, NJ, Home Care Industries, Inc., the manufacturer of the DVC product line, has been serving independent dealers in the floor care industry for 50 years.
