Buckeye celebrates 80th Anniversary Celebration at 2009 VDTA Show The 2009 Las Vegas VDTA Convention was the setting for Buckeye’s 80th Anniversary Celebration. Buckeye has been owned by the Strauss family since 1929 when the company was founded by Samuel S. Strauss. In 1956, his son Kenard G. Strauss took over day to day operations and by 1964 became president of Buckeye Vacuum Cleaner Supply Company. To mark this momentous occasion Buckeye celebrated by having a cake and coffee social at their booth on March 12. They enjoyed getting to visit with many of their customers as well as meeting with new ones. Many products were given away; Austin’s San Jose Vacuum & Sewing Center won a Evolution Fireball Canister. King Sew and Vac won two Panasonic chairs. Kermit’s Active Vacuum located in Sunnyside, WA, won two Panasonic chairs. Buckeye would also like to congratulate their dealers for winning the Panasonic prize drawings. Jack Boersma of Boersma’s Sewing & Vacuum won the 42” Plasma TV and George of Northside Vacuum won the Blu-ray DVD player. Buckeye would like to take this opportunity to thank all of their dealers for their commitment and being part of their loyal family. They look forward to providing you with continued quality service, innovative new items and “Supplies that Satisfy.” Reprinted from Floor Care Professional, May 2009 |
