Distinguished industry leaders earn Master CSE designation

At the Annual National Sewing Educators Alliance meeting on Feb. 21, 2007, nine distinguished sewing educators were awarded the Master Certified Sewing Educator designation. The Certified Sewing Educator (CSE) program, a certification for professional sewing educators, was established by the Sewing Dealers Trade Association, as a program to help professional sewing educators learn more about the industry, and obtain their credits from industry trade events as well as selected consumer shows. The educators selected to receive the Master CSE award have consistently demonstrated their dedication to the sewing industry through the numerous educational programs they deliver, each with over 10 years teaching, developing products, etc.

The Master CSE was awarded to Donna Babylon, Connie Crawford, Sue Hausmann, Lyla Messinger, Pati Palmer, Janet Pray, Kathy Ruddy, Patsy Shields, and Kaye Wood. These teachers are working with SDTA to help teach several of the credited classes and programs that are part of the CSE program. Each of these professional sewing educators have gone above and beyond to help promote sewing as an art and lifestyle to both sewing educators and sewing enthusiasts across the country.
