Janome proves commitment to innovation in Vegas! Janome America, Inc. proved its continuing commitment to innovative and exciting new products with the introduction of various offerings at the 2007 VDTA/SDTA Show this year. Dealers were thrilled to see the new customized sewing cabinet. Created specifically for the 1600 Professional, Memory Craft 6500P, and Memory Craft 6600P, this cabinet accommodates a knee lift, contains one drawer, and provides a generous formica-finished sewing surface of 45” x 19”. Sewists gasp at the gorgeous and intricate details in the Infinity Quilt. With Janome’s new comprehensive package, creating it is a breeze! The Infinity Quilt Collection includes a full color book of instruction by Ann Duncan and Kym Goldup-Graham of the Sewing Revolution from Queensland, Australia, with two circular rulers to aid in quilt design, layout and embroidery placement. The Exclusive Embroidery Collection by Sue Box™ is also included, with 55 stunning embroidery designs to perfectly accent each Infinity Quilt. Getting kids involved in the fun of sewing early helps create a life-long passion and fulfilling hobby. The Best of Sewing Machine Fun for Kids offers unique and fun projects to teach kids to sew. The book also includes a variety of puzzles and games to keep kids entertained even away from the sewing machine. Finally, the Osawa Collection is a gorgeous new collection of embroidery designs by acclaimed Japanese artist Kiyomi Osawa. Her work is unlike any other machine embroidery; a result of her unique technique which uses an embroidery machine to literally paint her subjects in thread. As a result of her technique, her subjects seem to come alive on the fabric. The effect of her singular artistry is stunning. The accompanying Artist’s Paintbox includes everything needed for thread painting. Two thread storage boxes contain 35 spools of Madeira Polyneon embroidery thread in various colors as well as one 550-yard spool of Bobbinfil. Also included is a Madeira Stabilizer set with 12 sheets of premium stabilizer and a Janome 32MB memory stick. Michael Rifkin, general manager for Meissner’s Sewing in Sacramento, CA, saw a special value in Janome’s new product offering at the convention: they gave him a unique opportunity to include complementary merchandise with the purchase of a new sewing machine. “I love that Janome gives me an opportunity to include value-added merchandise that ties directly into their model’s function,” he said. “I can offer these new products free with the purchase of a machine and add a direct benefit for the consumer.” He is offering the new table as a gift with the purchase of a Memory Craft 6600P and the Osawa Collection with the purchase of a 350E embroidery machine. Janome is very excited about its new offerings. As Karen Vogel, merchandise manager described, “Our dealers were very excited about the new products available. We strive to listen to our dealers and to create new products based on consumer recommendations. We feel that the variety of this new merchandise will provide something exciting for everyone.” Reprinted from SQE Professional, May 2007 |
