ESSCO shares highlights of 2007 VDTA Show

The 2007 VDTA Show proved to be another great one for ESSCO. Terry Finger, ESSCO marketing manager, stated, “We were very happy with our space and the new design of our booth brought traffic into the booth on each show day. The biggest draw for us is our Web site. We heard over and over from dealers at the show how at first they were skeptical that www.essco.net could help their business grow. Those same dealers who signed on and tried the Web site are now raving fans.”

Explaining the site, Finger said the number of schematics available in an easily searched format is well over 3,000 to date. Recently a real time price and stock feature was launched to the site which allows dealers to find a part number and immediately find out exactly what they will pay for the part and if it is currently in stock.

“This allows our dealers to quote parts pricing and availability 24 hours a day and seven days a week,” said Finger. “We invited dealers to access www.essco.net free at the show by giving us their e-mail address and a password.”

ESSCO would now like to extend that invitation to all independent vacuum dealers. Simply send an e-mail to sales@essco.net or call 1-800-321-2664 and you will have access to this dealer resource free of charge.

Another popular part of the ESSCO booth was the Cirrus line of vacuum cleaners. One of the greatest challenges distributors face today is providing a profitable line of upright vacuum cleaners to the independent dealer.

Finger stated, “There are many brands that lack the profit margins that dealers need to survive and that is why we have promoted the Cirrus brand heavily in the past year. The Cirrus upright line is a true high quality lineup. All uprights include Ametek Lamb motors, metal brushrolls, bottom plates and handles. Step up models include HEPA filtration, on board tools and a rug/floor selector switch. The Cirrus line really became a source of traffic at the show for us this year. Dealers who carry the line really appreciate the high profit margins that are generated while still being able to compete with comparable mass merchant uprights.”

Dealers were also happy with the protected territories offered with no rigid buy in amounts as well as the generous free freight program.

Finger said probably the most exciting part of the show was the announcement that the Summer VDTA Show will be in Cleveland on July 20-21, 2007.

He related, “Although the summer show has been smaller in years past we know from experience that the summer show in Cleveland will be well attended by dealers and companies alike. Cleveland truly is the home of the vacuum cleaner industry right up to the present.”

And, everyone knows that when the VDTA Show is in Cleveland ESSCO likes to throw a party. This year will be no exception. ESSCO is throwing the biggest industry party ever! They have rented the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum on July 20 and all dealers are invited. From 6:30 p.m. until Midnight, the entire Rock Hall will be open for dealers. Tickets for the party will be available at ESSCO’s booth at the Summer VDTA Show.
