Am Vacuum forms strategic alliance with Our Commitment Inc. to have a clothes drive to support victims of Haiti

On January 22, 2010 Volunteers Eric Loyd, Gordon Cook of Am Vacuum and Elwin Rutledge, Niecy Brown of Our Commitment Inc. with the help of students and teachers from Jonnie Cocran Middle school launched a clothing drive for the children of Haiti. They went to work sorting, folding and packing clothes that people from the community overwhelmingly donated.

“We were deeply saddened by the reports of the destruction and death coming out of Haiti. We feel we have a moral obligation to respond to an emergency when people are in need, and we cannot wall ourselves from the problems of the rest of the world,” they said. “We've been heartened by the out pouring of support and clothes coming from the community. Some people give time, some money, some their skills and connections. Some literally give their life's blood. But everyone has something to give.”

Am Vacuum is very happy to have formed this humanitarian campaign alliance with Our commitment Inc. They feel strongly that this program will benefit the children of Haiti, not just by donating clothes but awareness to people in need everywhere.
