Electrolux introduces Central Air Filtration Systems
HEPA filter technology provides unparalleled protection from indoor air pollution

Click for larger imageElectrolux Home Care Products is introducing the latest innovation in indoor air quality improvement with its new Frigidaire Central Air Filtration Systems. The new line of furnace bypass appliances are designed for residential and commercial use, and are equipped with HEPA filter technology to virtually eliminate dangerous airborne particles, chemicals, and biological contaminants.

Frigidaire HEPA Central Air Filtration Systems are made in Canada through a partnership between Electrolux and Mississauga, Ont.-based Amaircare Corp.

The partnership will allow Electrolux to market Amaircare’s state-of-the-art air filtration technology under the well-established Frigidaire brand though its wide-reaching dealer network.

“These products will allow us to satisfy a growing demand among consumers who are concerned about the implications of indoor air quality on their health,” said Andres Lelarge, Electrolux Home Care Products Canada. “Frigidaire Central Air Filtration Systems utilize cutting-edge Perfect Seal filter technology, which complies with strict standards to qualify as True HEPA filters.”

Frigidaire Central Air Filtration Systems are equipped with a patented Perfect Seal technology, which meets and exceeds international HEPA standards, making air 99.97 percent free of particulates 0.3 microns in size or larger. (A micron is 300 times smaller than the thickness of a single human hair.)

The filtration systems use a three-stage filtration process that includes a pre-filter to capture large particulates, the HEPA filter to capture biological materials such as bacteria, viruses, mold spores and fungi; and an inner carbon filter to capture volatile organic compounds -- or VOCs -- which include chemicals from household materials, cleaners, fumes, etc.

Central Air Filtration Systems are installed into existing air ducts, taking a portion of air from the cold air return, cleaning through the filter system, and putting it back in the cold air return.

Electrolux Home Care Products is committed to educating consumers about the benefits of improving the quality of the air in their homes. The company provides indoor air quality information and tips through its Web site, www.myiaq.ca.
