Announcing KaiScience...
a science-based community & portal for the cleaning industry

KaiScience logoKaiScience™ -- an online community and portal whose mission is to foster cleaner, healthier indoor environments through science -- has launched at www.kaiscience.com. KaiScience strives to serve as a catalyst for discussion about the public health benefits of science-based cleaning processes, and a repository of scientific content related to cleaning and the built environment. Information on KaiScience is intended to be relevant to the entire cleaning industry: school, healthcare, foodservice, retail, office, and other facilities.

KaiScience community members include scientists, medical doctors, public health and cleaning industry professionals, academics, and others interested in joining in enlightened discourse about the practical application of cleaning science to health.

KaiScience is based on the principle of Kaizen (continuous improvement) as it relates to cleaning, science and health. It is dedicated to:

  • The explanation and exploration of key scientific principles governing cleaning.
  • The identification of new technologies improving cleaning.
  • The development and refinement of cleaning processes that produce better, healthier and synergistic results as validated by scientific measurement.

Content on KaiScience includes:

  • Articles on cleaning science and public health.
  • Comments and discussion by scientists, experts and industry insiders.
  • Reports from the CDC, EPA, NIOSH, NIH, and other government sources.
  • Scientific abtracts and studies.
  • Photo archives of the microbial world and micro-contaminants.

The KaiScience Advisory Board consists of scientists, medical experts, industry consultants and others whose goal is to serve as agents of change, public health advocates, trainers and educators. The KaiScience Advisory Board roster is located at www.kaiscience.com/aboutus.php.

Kaivac (www.kaivac.com), the backer of KaiScience, believes that promoting science and supporting groups such as CIRI will benefit the cleaning industry as a whole by demonstrating the close relationship between proper cleaning, the reduction of disease, and the optimization of health.

“It is our hope that KaiScience will be a powerful tool for educating ourselves and the public about the science of cleaning and our impact on the microscopic world related to human health,” said Allen P. Rathey, director of KaiScience. “It is our sincere desire that it will facilitate the making of informed decisions, enhanced credibility for the cleaning industry, and greater visibility and support for organizations such as CIRI and other groups dedicated to improving the human condition through cleaning science.”

If you have information of scientific value that you believe may benefit the KaiScience community, submit it to Allen Rathey at arathey@kaiscience.com.
