VDTA/SDTA congratulates Sewing Month winners

Belleville Sewing Center in Belleville, IL, is pleased to announce that Amy Steimel from Fairview Heights, IL, is a prizewinner for the 2006 International Sewing Month. Steimel won a sewing and quilting machine, a prize donated by Juki.

Steimel registered for the prize drawing during Belleville Sewing Center’s 2006 Sewing Month celebration. Her registration slip was chosen at random from thousands of other drawing entries at the VDTA/SDTA office in Des Moines, IA. The association, along with numerous manufacturers in the sewing industry, sponsored the giveaway to promote September as International Sewing Month.

Sew & So in Park Rapids, MN, also had a lucky winner register at their store. Bonnie Jessen of Park Rapids, MN, was the prizewinner of a Singer sewing machine. Bonnie is pictured here with her new sewing machine, a prize donated by Singer Sewing Co.

Jessen was extremely happy to find out she had won a “Singer” sewing machine. She said, “I have sewed since I was nine years old and all but one of my machines have been Singers. I have five machines now, and I use all of them -- one for commercial, one for upholstery, one for quilting and one regular. Thank you again!”

International Sewing Month is a way for independent sewing dealers to thank current customers for their business and show new customers the quality products and services they can provide.
