Industry News Bernina artista 730E tops Consumers Digest “Best Buy” list When it comes to premium embroidery sewing systems, the Bernina® artista 730E received top billing, according to the February 2007 issue of Consumers Digest. The magazine’s Best Buys in sewing machines article noted that, “for sewing, embroidery, quilting – the 730E has it all.” It’s not surprising that the Consumers Digest product reviewers raved about the Bernina artista 730E, considering its impressive features and capabilities, including the Microsoft® Windows® Powered operating system. By simply tapping on the large, centrally-located color touch screen that looks and functions like a computer, users can control a multitude of features and access on-screen help and tutorials. And, they can easily log on to the myartista portal, a Web site exclusively for artista owners. The system also allows for the import and export of embroidery designs and can rescale both embroidery designs and alphabets by actually changing the stitch count to retain a design’s detail and texture. Consumers Digest prominently highlighted the patented Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR) that automatically regulates straight and zigzag stitches at variable lengths so the user can easily and confidently create consistent free-motion stitching. “While the artista 730E is packed with more features than any other Bernina, Consumers Digest called out the same features that our customers love most of all, like the 325 decorative and utility stitches (out of 855 total stitches), the separate bobbin-winding motor that works while the machine is sewing; the U-shaped fluorescent light that improves visibility; and our innovative on-screen buttonhole measurement tool,” said Martin Favre, president of Bernina of America. For more than 40 years consumers have looked to Consumers Digest magazine for reliable product information and to identify outstanding values.
