VDTA 2004 Scholarship Recipient Adam Martin wrote the VDTA, updating us on what he’s been doing. We thought we’d share the letter with you.

Dear VDTA:

I have just completed another wonderful year of learning at the University of Utah. I completed 24 credit hours in my major and received a GPA of 4.0 out of a 4 point scale. I would like to thank VDTA for their continued support of my business education.

While attending the U of U I had been working about 30 hours per week at D.H. Gibbs, a metal manufacturing company. As my duties coninued to increase with the National Mid-Winter Home Lending Financial Conference, hosted by Richard T. Pratt, former head of Securities and Exchange Commission during the Reagan Administration, I found it necessary to make a career path change. I am currently working for Richard T. Pratt and Associates.

This year I continued to volunteer time to help raise funds for the U of U Pioneer Memorial Theater. I worked as a concierge providing personal assistance to major contributors during a black tie event. My continued support to my community was spent by organizing labor for an annual clean up of a community park.

This summer I will complete an internship with Tools-R-Us franchise in California. I will return to the U of U in the fall to complete my bachelor’s degree in international finance.

My multiple accomplishments could not have been achieved without the support of both VDTA and the generous manufacturers and individuals who make the scholarship program a reality. Thank you for all your generosity.

With regard,
Adam Martin
