Boost your own morale

If your job is starting to feel routine and your performance uninspired, it’s time to take matters into your own hands: Motivate yourself!

How? One way is to create a support group of your peers from outside your organization -- even from outside your industry.

Contact four to eight people you trust and know to be energetic, positive individuals. Make a commitment that what’s said in your meetings stays in those meetings.

Then get together at least quarterly to share your aspirations, ideas, challenges, and (sometimes) pet peeves.

You may be surprised at what you can learn from people outside your field and how many new ideas or solutions you can gain from the networking experience.
