FlowMax Gold™:

Now Even Better

FlowMax Gold™ continues to be a leader in the vacuum tubing industry. In addition to being one of the first companies in North America to have its central vacuum pipe certified to the stringent F2168F standard implemented by ASTM, FlowMax Gold premium central vacuum pipe FlatPacks are now bundled with a zero residue tape.

“All of our FlowMax Gold™ is now run to a heavier wall thickness of 0.065” instead of the prior industry norm of 0.060",” said Brian McFerran, vice president of Sales for Available Plastics, Inc., the manufacturer of FlowMax Gold™. “This eight percent increase in wall thickness has the added benefit of improved the handling, cutting and installation of our already great pipe.”

McFerran added that the formula for FlowMax Gold™ has not changed. Only a 100 percent virgin PVC formulation is used. There is no regrind (ground up or recycled plastics), reprocessed secondary plastics, etc. in FlowMax Gold™. The pure formulation makes FlowMax Gold™ extremely smooth on the inside for superior slip and makes the outside great for gluing because it is almost pure PVC.

In addition to meeting the latest ASTM standard, the FlowMax Gold™ FlatPack has been improved.

“The FlatPack, which was created by API years ago, features 10 pieces of FlowMax Gold premium central vacuum pipe, taped together with custom cardboard end caps. These end caps protect the ends of the vacuum pipe from handling damage prior to installation,” said McFerran. “The only thing our dealers and installers didn’t like was that dust, dirt and insulation would adhere to areas where packaging tape had been removed -- spoiling the appearance of an otherwise great installation.”

Based on this customer feedback, Available Plastics came up with a zero residue tape that leaves absolutely no residue or stickiness on the vacuum tubing. While the zero residue tape is considerably more expensive than standard packaging tape, McFerran said the positive feedback from dealers and installers proves that it was the right decision.

Adherence to the new ASTM certification and the improvement in the packaging design are just two more reasons to choose FlowMax Gold™. Available direct from the manufacturer, FlowMax Gold™ is already the top choice of many installers as well as central vacuum manufacturers and distributors including fine companies such as Lindsay Manufacturing and VCP. FlowMax Gold™ can be ordered in a variety of lengths 5', 8' and 10' as well as the exclusive 5' socket pipe. The specially designed socket has a 2" depth that provides ample area for a strong bond to form between the FlowMax Gold™ pieces, reducing the number of connectors you’ll need and saving you time. Socket pipe is great for attics, crawlspace and retrofit installs.
