Some travel great distances to attend VDTA Conventions!

Some members of the VDTA/SDTA travel great distances so they can attend the annual conventions. Some come from as far away as Down Under! Just like Theo Szinger from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. (Theo is pictured here at his booth during a 2007 home show.)

Theo has been coming to the VDTA Convention since 1988. He says he’s attended at least seven times since 1988.

“It is a long way to come to stay only about a week in Las Vegas but the cost and the effort are well worth it,” said Theo. “There is so much to learn from fellow vacuum dealers and lecturers. They give me inspiration when they talk about the achievements they’ve accomplished.”

Theo said sometimes if he can pick up just one great marketing idea and implement it in his store, it will pay for his Vegas trip.

“I am truly grateful to those members who have given me ideas and shared their experiences (good and bad) in selling vacuums,” he commented. “Even though I have been selling and installing ducted vacuum systems for just about 30 years, I am always ready to accept new ideas and keep on learning as new products enter into the market.”

The VDTA/SDTA staff hopes all of this year’s convention attendees can obtain some new, profitable business ideas, and we welcome those, like Theo and his wife, who travel a great distance to join in the show!
