ESSCO hosts party to celebrate Grand Opening of Jacksonville warehouse On October 25, 2007, ESSCO held a party to celebrate the grand opening of its new warehouse in Jacksonville, FL. The event celebrated next day delivery for the entire state of Florida. “We are very excited to open our first new facility in the 74 years we have been serving the vacuum cleaner industry,” said Terry Finger, ESSCO Marketing Manager. “The process of planning to expand is very intensive and after the plan was executed we simply could not wait to get on the street to visit dealers, introduce ourselves and invite them to our grand opening party. According to Finger, the response from the Florida market has been phenomenal. He said, “Many of the dealers we visited knew ESSCO and bought parts from us that other suppliers do not stock. When we let them know that any order called, faxed or placed online by 3 p.m. EST would be delivered from our new warehouse to the dealer on the next business day, they were very excited. In addition, we did a demonstration of our Web site, WWW.ESSCO.NET. Vacuum dealers are increasingly using computers at the shop and our Web site is a tremendous resource for vacuum shops. The Web site now contains over 3,500 searchable schematics and an online order entry system that is very customer friendly. It is hard to believe but there were still a few dealers in Florida who had never seen the master ESSCO catalog. When I tell a prospective customer that our catalog has been updated each and every year for 14 years in a row it is pretty impressive and I am proud of the fact.” On the day of the event, a large tent was set up in the parking lot of the new Jacksonville warehouse. Dealers began to arrive at 6 p.m. for cocktails and a tour of the new facility, which is state-of-the-art and nearly a duplicate of the main shipping warehouse in Cleveland, OH. A full southern barbeque buffet followed, complete with banana pudding and peach cobbler. Completing the evening was a presentation by ESSCO management. Topics included an opening welcome and comments from Tom Bianco, President and CEO. Next, was a brief history of ESSCO which included the future direction of the company and the myriad of advantages available to independent vacuum dealers who partner with ESSCO. This was followed with presentations of exciting new products, including the Cirrus line of high profit, protected territory upright vacuum cleaners. The Cirrus line has been very successful for many dealers and it was announced at the party that full color banners and display cubes are now available free of charge. Also unveiled was the upgraded Elektrapure EP-1010 lightweight upright now with a loop style handle with switch in electric blue. The Bosch line of high quality canisters were featured because ESSCO now distributes the line throughout the United States. Finally Bona hard floor care offered an attractive display filled with hard floor care products to the Florida dealers and several dealers took advantage of the floor display show special. “We greatly enjoy hosting dealer shows around the country,” said Finger. “It doesn’t matter where we have the party, if we fill the room with independent vacuum dealers, it will be an enjoyable time for everyone. Dealers truly enjoy each other’s company and I have never found a more open-minded group who are willing to share experiences and successes to help each other succeed.
