VACUFLO to be Featured on Hometime TV Show VACUFLO central vacuum systems are going to be featured on the nationally-televised PBS home improvement show, Hometime. Hometime's Stone Cottage Project, a 13-part series focusing on a well-designed, state-of-the-art home, began February 27. The VACUFLO rough-in is scheduled to appear on the April 10 episode, with the finish being part of a later episode in the series. Built in Orono, MN, the Stone Cottage has 3,200 finished square feet on the first and second floors. The home is "nicely equipped" with stone countertops, a variety of wood, stone and tile floorings and stainless appliances. It also showcases innovative systems for foundations, framing, roofing, insulation, HVAC and attractive solutions for design, layout and landscaping. To offer the latest in cleaning convenience, the Stone Cottage is also equipped with VACUFLO and unique central vacuum hose management solutions including Hide-A-Hose, Vroom and Spot. Hide-A-Hose is a space-saving retractable hose system that enables a homeowner to use a central vacuum system with ease and store up to 50 feet of hose within the wall. Vroom quick clean vacuum system is the solution for everyday cleanups in high-traffic areas, storing up to 24 feet of hose in a 3-inch space-saving box design. Spot stores up to 10 feet of retractable hose in the wall and is designed for every day messes in a particular area of the home. Chris Slackford, installation training manager for H-P Products, drove to Orono, MN, from Ohio during a mid-December snowstorm (after his flight was cancelled) to rough-in the central vac system for the home. The rough-in will be aired April 10. Slackford's return to the home to finish the system should be aired in May. The 13 half-hour episodes represent the bulk of Hometime's programming for 2010, which began airing on February 27. This series will also re-broadcast on PBS in 2011, then twice again on the national commercial version of Hometime in the 2011-12 TV season.
