James Kenneth Clounch
Ken’s Sewing Center
1949 –

Ken Clounch was born in 1949, and at 20 years of age he began working for a company that did in-house sewing machine and vacuum demonstrations. Six months later he was put in charge of the road crew he worked with, and that was it, he was hooked. It didn’t take long before Ken bought the business from his employer and began the first step of building his new business, Ken’s Sewing Center, into a monumental success.

Ken started with six used machines, four extra hooks, and two bobbin cases. Since then, he has built that store into one of the largest multiline sewing machine and vacuum dealerships in Alabama.

Ken has always believed that giving the best service available and treating each customer as if she/he were the only customer he had were keys to success. It’s apparent that philosophy has worked well.
