Until the recent introduction of VacFX® and Janitized® replacement vacuum cleaner filters APC Filtration Inc. was relatively unknown to VDTA dealers and distributors.

It may come as a surprise that APC provides over 27 years of air filtration expertise to OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturers) of industrial, commercial and household appliance products. APC is recognized within the floor care industry as North America’s largest multi-line filter manufacturer specializing in air filter design, engineering and testing. APC has two manufacturing facilities located in Canada and China producing OEM and aftermarket paper and cloth filter bags, pleated panel and radial filters, die cut filters, plastic injection molded filters including HEPA and ULPA filters to name a few. Brand name products used in the manufacturing OEM filters include Aegis ®, AlleRx®, Microban®, Micro-Max®, Micro-Tex®, DuPont Teflon® and Ultra-Fresh®. APC’s core business is providing OEM’s with unique, proprietary and/or patented filter products and design.

In January 2003 APC diversified its sales efforts to include VacFX® aftermarket replacement filters sold exclusively through VDTA dealers. Products include household upright and canister vacuum cleaner filters including Sears Craftsman®, Ridgid® and Shop-Vac® work shop vacuum filters. The VacFX® product line was developed through an alliance with VTDA distributors who understood exactly what vacuum dealers wanted. A 5P approach was used to develop the best product, price, performance, packaging and promotion to exceed dealer expectations. As a result VacFX® products are targeted to asthma and allergy sufferers with attractive product packaging to support product imagery and the VacFX® brand. A profitable sales program was created with retail pricing set to promote the products as the best value in allergen protection. The VacFX® brand has become so successful that products are recognized by consumers as a short cut to a good buying decision. The family of VacFX® products continues to expand and will soon include replacement HEPA filters for name brand air cleaners.

Also in 2003 Janitized® aftermarket filters were developed to focus on the commercial cleaning industry. Primarily sold through distributors specializing in the commercial cleaning market, Janitized® brand replacement filters cover a wider range of applications for industrial and commercial canister and upright vacuum cleaners, critical filtration vacuums, floor sweepers and related cleaning equipment. APC has recently developed a line of “Green Seal” approved replacement filter products that is an industry first to meet health, safety and environment demands within this industry.
